Who we are
EC ASSOCIATES is a professional audit and accountancy firm, officially registered as a “Member Firm” in the Republic of Mauritius with the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (MIPA) and the Financial Reporting Council (FRC).
Our evolution
Founded by Mr. Elshad Chattun, EC ASSOCIATES has its roots in his practice as a Sole Practitioner, operating under his own name since 2008. In 2020, he established EC ASSOCIATES as a Member Firm to expand and enhance the range of professional services offered.
Elshad Chattun FCCA
Mr. Elshad Chattun is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) with over 25 years of experience in auditing and accountancy. He is a Licensed Auditor and Public Accountant with extensive expertise across various industries.
His professional journey began at Ernst & Young, where he received rigorous training in accounting and auditing before qualifying as a Professional Accountant. Post-qualification, he continued his career at Ernst & Young, gaining in-depth experience in auditing financial statements for major listed companies in sectors such as tourism, construction, and sugar. His responsibilities also included financial consolidation and international reporting to Group Auditors.
Beyond auditing, Mr. Chattun has held key accounting roles, including:
Financial reporting for a lending institution Managing accounting for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and providing advisory services Working with businesses across primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors, including non-profit organizations. Additionally, he has extensive experience with the French accounting system and the preparation of IFRS financial statements in French. His expertise extends beyond Mauritius, having conducted audits and professional assignments in Seychelles, Ghana, and Madagascar.
